McEwan Homes and John Leslie

You take care of your community, this is how I have learned to care for my community:

  • I represent disabled snowboarding athletes on the national council of athletes. Ensuring that the voices of athletes at all levels and disciplines are represented in a collaborative, professional and effective manner.

  • I represent Canada on the international disabled snowboard council. An international movement to provide safe, realistic, and sustainable opportunities for disabled snowboarders.

  • I have created a Canadian not for profit that works with PE teachers within Canada’s Education system. Providing students with opportunities to learn Skiing and Snowboarding skills in a gym class setting.

  • My volunteer efforts have been ongoing for over 15 years with a number of Canadian charities, whose efforts range from Cancer Research to empowering Canadians living with a disability.

Like your homes, I have created a strong foundation:

  • I have been a member of the Canadian National Snowboard team since 2011. Representing Canada at World Cups, World Championships, two Paralympics, and numerous invitational events.

  • I am currently a member, in good standing, with Canada Snowboard and is on track to compete in the 2022 Paralympic Games. This level of competition requires maintaining an international ranking which is achieved by competing in World Cup events.

  • I am committed to a full time training schedule meeting the standards set and monitored by Canada Snowboard and requires him to meet standards created by Canada and sanctioned by the Canadian Government.
